Sonic Fluid Level Sensor

Key Issues
  • Strong competition in this business necessitated a re-appraisal of the current product design to reduce both cost and size.  In addition, features to enhance the product function and simplify the installation had also to be incorporated.

    New Design

From the DFA/MA workshop, a revolutionary re-design was proposed. It represented a risky step change, but so good that it just had to be adopted.  One quarter of the parts, half the size and simple universal installation has made the new product a winner with customers.  A standard interface plug  means that wire connecting can now be carried out remote from the sensor instead of the direct hard wiring the previous version required.  An additional benefit of this feature is that the new plug incorporates a screw clamp and flange seal as supplied which ensures environmental protection.
